behind the scenes in product development - part 2

I fell head over heels in love with these shoes when I saw someone wearing them earlier this year at an event and was sad to discover that they were manufactured by now-defunct C. Wonder, the kitsch spinoff of Tory Burch created by her ex-husband, and were no longer in stock online or in the store here.  Now that the entire brand has gone down the tubes, I'm guessing my dream of owning these beauties is defunct as well unless I want to shop ebay, but for now, I'm not going to go that route.

But, because I am not one to let my obsessions go, I set out to recreate these beauties as a fabric in Spoonflower.  I wanted to use a French Napoleon bee and a traditional upholstery golden color, so I put a transparent bee on a mustard backdrop and then chose a cheery yellow font for the happy script- see below.

Here's the final as printed on fabric.

It's both quirky and cute, although it doesn't show very well in the photo.  I have yet to decide what to make with the fabric, so I'm open to suggestions/special requests.  I was thinking of using it as an accent fabric to go along with another fabric, maybe honeycombs?  Stay tuned and we'll update once we've made something!
